Halo Infinite Has Been Delayed Until 2021

Microsoft and 343 Industries have made the difficult decision to delay Halo Infinite to 2021, a full year after the launch of the upcoming Xbox Series X.

In an official tweet from the Halo twitter account, studio head Chris Lee states that it was a hard decision to make and that he wants the development team to have adequate time to realize their vision for a Halo game experience.  Chris also mentions “multiple factors” have affected the development of Halo Infinite, including Covid-19. Despite that, Lee and his team have been working hard and have stayed committed to finding creative solutions and delivering a great game.

Halo Infinite being delayed was a possibility cited by Phil Spencer, although the Series X is set for a November release. Additionally, Infinite isn’t the only major game set to release within the last few years to be delayed. Cyberpunk 2077 was delayed to November this year and Destiny‘s fourth major expansion, Beyond Light, has been delayed to November 10th.

We hope the development team delivers and that fans of the Halo series have patience in a time that’s difficult for everyone, including the hard-working developers who make the games we love possible.
